Formulations Unit 7 (SEZ) at Jadcherla

Aurobindo has taken its commitment to healthier life leagues ahead with its new Formulations Unit 7 (SEZ) at Jadcherla, Andhra Pradesh, India. Strategically located just 60 kms from Hyderabad International airport, off NH 7, the project situated in the state's first green industrial park, also reiterates Aurobindo's commitment to the environment.

The total unit area is 75 acres and the first block has been set up on 10 acres. The project set a time record of just 16 months from conceptualization to execution to trial batches. The unit has already been audited by USFDA without major observations. The ultra modern unit is based on the suite manufacturing concept for increased productivity. Another project highlight is the closed material handling system.

Huge capacities as well as flexibility in batch sizes are the project's strength. Granulation capacities range from 250L to 1300L. The 5 blending stations too have varied capacities from 150L to 6000L. The sheer volume of work that can be executed is reflected in the 26 lines planned with capacities ranging from 100 to 260 blisters per min. The overall capacity is a huge 700 million tablets and 16 million capsules per month.

In-house QA, fully automated and retrieval systems at the warehouse, process optimization and technology transfer, and an in-house purified water generation & distribution system makes Unit 7 at par with the best worldwide.

Aurobindo Formulations Unit 7 (SEZ) was inaugurated by Sri. K Rosaiah, Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on 20th November, 2009. Mr. David Simmons, President & General Manager, Established Products Business Unit, Pfizer was the Guest of Honor.
