| Imunus Aurobindo, the exclusive antiviral division of
Aurobindo Pharma Ltd., has brought down the prices of their daily packs of antiretrovirals.
Since it launched products for the HIV market, this is the third price reduction announced by
Imunus Aurobindo. The objective is to increase the reach of Aurobindo's HIV drugs to a larger
section of people. This price reduction will motivate
more patients to invest on a daily / weekly / monthly basis on daily packs, which are more
convenient, more hygienic, and tamper-proof as compared to bulk packs.
With this price reduction, Imunus Aurobindo's daily pack prices
are nearly 8% lower than the competition.
For example, the cost of 5 days therapy of Zidovudine +
Lamivudine + Nevirapine (Zidovex-L + Nevirex) with Imunus Aurobindo's daily packs is
now Rs.480 against Cipla price of Rs.528 while the cost of Stavudine 30mg + Lamivudine +
Nevirapine (Stavex 30 + Lamivox + Nevirex) is as economical as Rs.365 against
Cipla’s price of Rs.401.50.
