IMUNUS AUROBINDO LAUNCHES TWO NEW ANTI-AIDS DRUGS

Imunus Aurobindo, the exclusive antiviral division of Aurobindo Pharma Ltd., has launched once daily NNRTI, Efavirenz (VIRANZ) and a unique protease inhibitor Nelfinavir (NELVEX). With this, Aurobindo Pharma becomes the first Indian company to launch these two antiretrovirals.

Efavirenz is a strongly recommended first line NNRTI with excellent efficacy and tolerance. Efavirenz (VIRANZ) has once daily dose advantage unlike NNRTIs like Nevirapine.

Efavirenz (VIRANZ), the NNRTI would be available at a very economical price compared to the international brands available in the Indian market.

NELVEX has potent advantages compared to Indinavir (currently available) due to its compatibility in combinations and lesser side effects in the long-term therapy.

Imunus Aurobindo is introducing the best protease inhibitor (PI) - Nelfinavir (NELVEX) - at prices on par with Indinavir and much lower than the exorbitant prices of international PI brands.

"We are sure that these two antiretrovirals will equip the anti-AIDS therapeutic armamentarium of many clinicians. With these new additions, Aurobindo Pharma has the largest number of antiretroviral molecules for treating AIDS", said
Mr. S. Hariharan, Vice President, Imunus Aurobindo.
